Sharing information sent by Velocity Training Canada Inc.

Velocity Training Canada Inc. is doing some training in the Cariboo Region with the Esk'etemc First Nation in Alkali Lake to deliver a few short courses and workshops.

The program running is on Entrepreneurship training which will be followed by a week of Safety Certificates and then 3 weeks of Environmental and Land Monitoring plus Electrofishing, which will be delivered by VIU. The poster below has more details of each module.

There are 2 remaining seats that have opened up in this program. Because of the funding the participants must be members of Esk'etemc, or the communities of Dog/Canoe Creek and Toosey. We realize that the commute may not be the best for people from the other communities but Esk'etemc wanted to ensure that it was open to neighboring communities.

Participants do not need to be on EI or SA to register.

If you meet the above requirements and are interested in the pogram please call (1-866-246-8532) or email (team@velocitytraininginc.com) to Register!

Please share and lets start providing feedback for Poverty Reduction! Below is some information and a link to provide your input that is being collected until March 30, 2018 at 4:00pm.

BC Poverty Reduction Strategy Engagement - Contact Information: engage.gov.bc.ca/bcpovertyreduction/

We’re building a poverty reduction strategy, and you can help.
The poverty rate in B.C. is among the worst in Canada. Too many people are struggling to make ends meet, earn a living wage, or find and keep affordable housing. Too many families are suffering without basic necessities, relying on food banks, going hungry or sending their children to school hungry.

It’s time to lift people out of poverty.
As a first step, the B.C. government raised income assistance and disability rates by $100 per month to help people who need it most. This is only the beginning. There’s more to do. One of the critical next steps is to build and implement a province-wide poverty reduction plan with targets and timelines. And we want your help.

There are several ways to participate:
• Attend a Community Meeting
• Attend a Métis Poverty Reduction Engagement Session
• Submit your feedback by email, mail or phone. engage.gov.bc.ca/bcpovertyreduction/ways-to-participate/
• Complete the online feedback form on this site.
engage.gov.bc.ca/bcpovertyreduction/submit-your-feedback/

Your feedback will help us understand what poverty looks like in communities across B.C., and how we can best take action to improve people’s lives. In order to promote the transparency of this engagement, all feedback collected by the online feedback form and email will be posted to the site. Names will not be included.

Feedback will be collected between October 30, 2017 and March 30, 2018 at 4pm.
Submit your feedback online by March 30, 2018 at 4 p.m.
