Job Title: Casual Position for Various Programs
Reports to: CMHA – South Cariboo Branch Executive Director
JOB SUMMARY
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) – South Cariboo Branch has an opening for a casual position for various programs.
The successful candidate for this casual position will be trained to work in 6 programs: Activity/Clubhouse, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Homeless Outreach, Community Navigator, Reception, and Acquired Brain Injury.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mental Health Worker/Community Social Service or related certification, and related experience of two years; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Class V BC Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract
- Certificates in First Aid and Food Safe
SKILLS, ABILITY AND EXPERIENCE
Ability to:
- work independently and in cooperation with others in a supportive team environment
- communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- knowledge of and ability to use a computer and Office 365 for day to day tasks and reporting
- physically able to carry out the duties of the position
- organize and prioritize
- observe and recognize changes in clients
- establish and maintain rapport with clients
- analyze and resolve problems
Experience and Skills:
- working with individuals with mental health challenges and/or people who use substances
- intermediate computer literacy skills
- conflict resolution and crisis intervention
