Job Summary:

We offer competitive wages with benefits after 3 months of employment. Burgess Plumbing Heating and Electrical is seeking experienced HVAC/R technicians to join our growing team.

As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems in residential and commercial applications.

This is a full-time position that requires expertise in various HVAC techniques and the ability to work independently.

Gas fitting certification is considered an asset. Supermarket experience considered an asset. Compensation rate varies depending on experience. Relocation allowance negotiable.

Duties:

Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems

Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems

Inspect HVAC/R systems and their components for potential issues

Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC/R systems

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubricating equipment

Assess HVAC/R systems to ensure they are functioning properly

Repair or replace defective parts in HVAC/R systems

Install new HVAC systems according to specification

Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of HVAC systems

Collaborate with other technicians and contractors on installation or repair projects

Requirements:

Valid BC B-Gas ticket

Valid Driver’s License

Red Seal Endorsement or 3+ year apprentice

Proven experience as an HVAC/R Technician or similar role

Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of HVAC systems

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems

Knowledge of local building codes and regulations related to HVAC systems

Excellent critical thinking skills with attention to detail

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Skills:

Proficiency in HVAC systems installation, maintenance, and repair

Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues effectively

Ability to plumb, build, weld, and boil as needed for system installation or repair

Familiarity with reading blueprints and schematics for system layout understanding

Knowledge of appliance repair techniques

Proficiency with power tools

Excellent problem-solving skills to interact with clients and team members

Effective communication skills to interact with clients and explain technical information clearly
