Job Title: Restorative Justice Worker
Employment Type: Full-Time Wage: $28–$34 per hour, depending on experience and certification
Reports To: Amy Pootlass
Position Summary
The Restorative Justice Worker supports Indigenous individuals, families, and community members through culturally grounded, trauma-informed restorative justice practices. This role focuses on healing, accountability, and community wellness by supporting alternatives to punitive systems and strengthening relationships affected by harm. The worker will collaborate with community partners, justice systems, and internal programs to promote restorative approaches rooted in Indigenous values and teachings.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate restorative justice processes, including circles, mediation, and healing-focused interventions
•
Support individuals involved in or impacted by justice-related matters with a strengths-based approach
•
Work closely with community members, Elders, families, and partner agencies
•
Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and documentation
•
Uphold confidentiality, ethical practice, and cultural safety
•
Participate in program development, evaluation, and community outreach
•
Attend meetings, training, and community events as required
Qualifications & Requirements:
•
This position is designated for Indigenous applicants (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis)
•
Experience working in restorative justice, social services, community wellness, or related fields
•
Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, histories, and the impacts of intergenerational trauma
•
Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
•
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•
Relevant certification or training in restorative justice is an asset
•
Valid driver’s license may be required
•
Criminal Record check
