Work Location: Same as above and at various locations throughout Alberta and BC on clients’ work sites

Job Description:

Operate telescope booms, lattice booms, hydraulic cranes, and mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials

Clean and lubricate cranes

Instruct apprentices

Assemble tower cranes on site

Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting

Perform routine maintenance work

Inspect and assess ground conditions to ensure that the crane can be set up safely

Comply with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices

Maintain work records and logs

Drive mobile crane

 

Requirements:

– Education: Completion of high school is required

Completion of a one- to three-year apprenticeship program or High school, college or industry courses in crane operating is required.

-Experience: At least 3 years of experience.

Mobile crane operator trade certification is required.

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems

Must possess a Class 1 driver’s license to drive cranes to work sites

-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Sitting

-Personal suitability: Accurate, Dependability, Flexibility, Judgement

-Work Site Environment: Outdoors, At heights

Work Setting: Construction site

-Weight Handling: Up to 50lbs

-Type of Cranes: Hydraulic or telescoping boom

 

Salary: $52.00 hourly, 40 – 80 hours per week.

Other information:

Work schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour or 12-hour shifts, Monday to Friday. Flexibility in schedule is required. Work on statutory holidays, weekends, nightshifts, and extended hours will be required.
