Summer Student – Employment Opportunity

 

Hours: 30 hours weekly (9 weeks)

Hourly Rate of Pay: $18.25

Start Date: June 15, 2026

Ending Date: August 14, 2026

Closing Date: May 16, 2026

 

We are looking for a dynamic individual to be a part of our team for the position of Community Arts

Outreach Worker – summer position working in our Office located at the Quesnel and Arts &

Recreation Centre in Quesnel BC and the surrounding CRD area.

Reporting to the Executive Director

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be Enrolled in an Educational Institution starting in the fall
  • Must be between 17 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (1), and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is needed
  • Must have a strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality and privacy
  • Must possess the following skills: Communication, Interpersonal and Relationship building, Problem Solving, Time Management, Research Skills and first nations languages would be advantageous
  • Must provide a current criminal record check or agree to obtaining one
  • A driver’s license and access to a vehicle is mandatory for this position

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for programs and services offered by QDCAC
  • Provide input into Social Media marketing
  • Develop promotional displays to be presented at Farmers Market opportunities
  • Work with the board and volunteer’s activities/events
  • Plan and carry out Arts & Crafts activities for Community events (e.g. Canada Day, Billy Barker Days Children’s Day in the Park, National Indigenous Day, West Quesnel Night Market, Bouchie Lake Market)
  • Design and distribute posters for events
  • Must be physically fit and to lift to 25 lbs
