CMHA-CC is a community-based mental health organization serving the Cariboo Chilcotin region. We offer counselling, outreach, crisis support, and community education — work that is genuinely varied and, at times, demanding. We are hiring a Registered Counsellor to join our team.
We are open to hybrid or flexible work arrangements where this fits the role and client needs.
About the Role
You will provide short-term individual counselling to adults dealing with a range of social, emotional, psychological, and behavioural concerns.
Day-to-day, this includes:
- Conducting intake assessments and gathering relevant history
- Developing and carrying out individualized treatment plans
- Delivering counselling using evidence-informed approaches
- Tracking client progress and adjusting care as needed
- Running groups
- Collaborating with colleagues and outside service providers
- Connecting clients to community resources
- Keeping clinical records current and accurate
- Taking part in community education and prevention work.
What We’re Looking For:
- Registration as an RCC, RTC, or CCC
- At least two years of relevant counselling experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Sound clinical judgment, including experience with complex presentations
- Clear communication and the ability to build trust with clients
- Comfortable working independently and within a team
- A genuine commitment to trauma-informed, client-centered practice
- Additional requirements: Criminal Record Check; commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.
