| Wage : | $27-$30 / Hr depending on experience |
The Complex Care Housing (CCH) Care Aide is a vital role dedicated to supporting individuals within our community who face multiple barriers, including mental health challenges, substance use, and complex trauma.
Working under the guidance of the CCH Coordinator, you will provide compassionate, person-centered care that fosters independence, dignity, and life-skill development. This isn’t just a job; it’s an opportunity to provide stable, culturally safe support to those who need it most.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Health Support: Aid with personal equipment, simple wound dressings, and medication support following established protocols.
- Living Support: Help maintain a healthy environment through housekeeping, decluttering, and meal preparation.
- Advocacy & Observation: Monitor client well-being, recognize changes in health or behavior, and advocate for client needs within the CCH team.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of a recognized Care Aide program.
- Registration: Active registration as a Registered Care Aide in BC.
- Experience: One year of recent related experience (or an equivalent mix of education and training).
- Specialization: Proven experience working with marginalized populations and a deep understanding of Harm Reduction principles.
- Food Safe Certificate- Some Light meal prep may be required

- Resilience: A calm, mature manner with the ability to navigate stressful or crisis situations.
- Cultural Safety: Commitment to providing culturally appropriate care, specifically for Indigenous clients.
- Communication: Strong oral and written skills; ability to build rapport with clients and management.
- Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise initiative, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Physical Readiness: Physically capable of performing all duties related to the position.
