Job Summary

Nuxalk Nation Complex Care housing is seeking a detail-oriented individual to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents in our CCH program. Unlike traditional housekeeping, this role requires a focus on infection control and safety maintenance

while working in a trauma-informed environment. You will be responsible for the daily sanitization of resident suites and common areas to support the health and dignity of individuals with complex needs.

Housekeeping Cleaning Responsibilities

• Sanitization s Infection Control: Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, washrooms (toilets, showers, fixtures), and kitchens according to health safety
• Floor Maintenance: Sweep, damp mop in resident rooms and common
• Bio-Hazard Management: Safely dispose of garbage and bio-hazardous waste (including sharps or soiled linens) following established safety protocols.
• Terminal Cleaning: Perform deep “terminal cleans” of suites when residents move or are discharged to prepare for new occupants.
• Laundry Services: Collect, launder, and distribute clean linens, towels, and resident

Qualifications  Requirements

• Education: Grade 10 or equivalent; previous experience in health care environmental services or other cleaning positions is an asset.
• Certifications: WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) is required
• Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for long shifts, and perform repetitive bending/reaching.
• Personal Attributes: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining professional boundaries with vulnerable residents
• Trauma-Informed Approach: Understanding of substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and harm reduction or willingness to learn
• Clean Criminal record check
• Food Safe Certificate for Light meal Prep
