Quesnel & District Minor Hockey
Quesnel & District Minor Hockey is accepting applications for the position of Office Administrator.
Wage: $22-25 per hour, based on experience
Hours: 25 hours per week; contract runs from mid-August 2026 to April 30, 2027; job has potential to renew for the following season
This position is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the minor hockey office throughout the pre-season, regular season, and post-season. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the organization, its player, families, volunteers, and executive member while ensuring efficient office operations and clear communication.
Roles and Responsibilities of this Role:
- Reports directly to the Quesnel Minor Hockey Executive
- Receive all incoming mail, emails and telephone calls to Quesnel Minor Hockey, and direct such correspondence to the appropriate executive member
- Provide general information regarding minor hockey in replies to inquiries
- Arrange for adequate office supplies and stationery
- Prepare and send correspondence on behalf of Quesnel Minor Hockey
- Create documents and forms, as required
- Maintain the policy manual
- Oversee the online registration, through the Hock Canada Registry
- Distribute player lists and contact information to division directors
- Roster teams in the Hockey Canada Registry
- Complete the carding process of all Rep teams
- Attend Ice Allocation meetings
- Coordinate the scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of ice time for all divisions
- Receive tournament schedules in conjunction with the appropriate executive member
- Provide the treasurer with a monthly breakdown of ice time and prime and non-prime rate
- Assist with obtaining ice time for clinics, as required
- Send a weekly ice schedule to the executive, and post it on the QDMHA bulletin board
- Provide an administrator monthly report to the executive
- Attend meetings in town and out of town, as required
Candidate Characteristics:
- Fluent in Microsoft Office programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Fluent in QuickBooks
- Strong interpersonal and social skills
- Organized and able to work under pressure
- Enthusiastic, energetic and possess a willingness to learn new skills
- Flexibility in schedules
- Courteous and cordial
- Able to multitask
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
