Dawson Co-op invites applications for the position of Grocery Clerk (part time) to join our team at our Food Store located in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
The Grocery Clerk is responsible for maintaining an excellent understanding of store and product layout, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and providing prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service to customers.
Reporting to the Grocery Supervisors, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Come to work with a positive and professional approach and attitude
- Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
- Provide outstanding and courteous customer service at all times
- Provide service, information and assistance to customers in a manner which will promote the sale of merchandise and meet their requirements and expectations
- Maintain the store in a clean and organized manner at all times
- Stock and rotate product as assigned; ensure oldest dates are first out
- Monitor and minimize spoilage
- Maintain an excellent understanding of where items are placed in the store; to assist customers in finding products they are looking for
- Packing of customer purchases at the checkout counter
- Offer assistance with purchases
- • Adhere to start of day and end of shift procedures
- Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union policies and procedures
- Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union health and safety standards, per the Health and Safety manual
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Willing to learn
- Friendly and outgoing
- Reliable and responsible
- Previous experience is an asset
- Ability to manage relationships at all levels
Compensation and Benefits
- $18.30 an hour
