Employment Opportunity – Finance worker
The Cariboo Chilcotin Aboriginal Training Employment Centre (CCATEC) is seeking resumes for the position of the Finance Worker.
Position Overview:
The Financial Worker will be responsible for managing and overseeing all financial transactions and financial controls for the Society. This role is critical in ensuring the financial integrity and accountability of the organization’s operations and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all financial transactions related to the Society’s operations and initiatives.
- Manage payroll processing and the benefit package for Society employees.
- Verify the accuracy of financial documents, including payments, claims, invoices, and related records.
- Track and report on expenditures under the Society’s budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Implement and enforce appropriate financial controls based on the Society’s needs.
- Proactively contribute to the development of sound financial management practices.
- Prepare all mandatory financial reports (e.g., RCT, GST, contract reports).
- Compile and present financial and administrative reports to the Board and the Executive Director as required.
- Perform general banking duties, including bank reconciliations, deposits, and transfers.
- Assist in the preparation for yearly audits and ensure smooth execution of the yearly close-out procedure.
- Prepare claim forms for all funders in accordance with their requirements.
- Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of the CCATEC service.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with SAGE 50 accounting software and office-related tasks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contracting procedures.
- Strong written and oral communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative in managing financial operations.
- Knowledge and understanding of the local Indigenous communities.
- Experience working with Indigenous-led organizations is preferred.
- Criminal record check required.
- Willingness to travel to CCATEC communities as required.
Position: Financial Worker
Location: Williams Lake, BC
Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Hours per week: 35 hours
Wage Rate: $35-40 per hour, depending on experience.
