Summer Student Employment Opportunity

Cariboo Chilcotin School District is accepting applications for the position of Summer Student –Labourer.  Applications will be accepted until February 13th, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.

Job Duties:

·         Grounds Maintenance which includes using power tools to weed whack and cut grass; general landscaping and minor irrigation maintenance

·         Painting – minor painting tasks which include assisting the Certified Trades Painter as needed

·         General Labour – which includes supporting Grounds Staff with playground maintenance and installs, moving and relocation of classroom

·         Additional labour-related duties may be required on an as-needed basis

 

Threshold Qualifications

§  Must be currently enrolled in full-time, post-secondary studies at a recognized University or College and be returning to full time post-secondary studies for the Fall 2026

§  Must be physically fit and able to carry out the duties of the job

§  Must have a minimum of Class 7 BC Drivers License; preference will be given to applicants who hold a Class 5 BC Driver’s License

§  Experience with towing trailers would be considered an asset

 

Schedule:

§  Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.  The opportunity to work additional hours on the occasional Saturday may be offered.

§  The anticipated start date is May 4th until August 28th, 2026 unless otherwise agreed to.

 

Hourly Rate of Pay:

§  $24.96 – plus 4% Vacation pay, 4.2% in lieu of statutory holiday pay, and $0.40 per hour worked in lieu of health and sick leave benefits.

As a condition of employment, successful applicants will be required to comply with the Criminal Records Review Program, by consenting to a Criminal Record Check.
