Position:    CERTIFIED TRADES – ELECTRICIAN

Location:  MAINT. WL

12 mos., 40.00 hours/week.

Rate of Pay:

• Level 1:  36.19
• Level 2:  39.14

Threshold Qualifications:

• Valid BC driver’s license – Class 5
• Physically fit and capable of performing all assigned duties
• Valid Tradesman Certification for Electrical
• A current knowledge of all provincial and municipal codes or regulations that have a direct bearing on this trade
• Proven ability to read and understand plans and/or blueprints

Duties Include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure that safety procedures are observed at all times
• Maintain a current knowledge of all provincial and municipal codes or regulations that have a direct bearing on this trade
• Install, modify, repair, and maintin motors, generators, secondary electrical distriburion systems, interior building components, security lighting and electrical equipment, H.V. and A.C units, fire alarms, emergency lights and intruder systems
• Maintain and repair electrical components of refrigeration units
• Maintain and repair digital and mechanical night setbacks
• Carry out preventative maintenance of facilities and fixtures
• Ensure an adequate supply of repair parts and materials by submitting lists to leadhand
• Erect and use ladders and scafford in a safe manner
• Operate man lift and bucket truck as required by Workers’ Compensation
• Other operations and maintenance functions as required
• Fringe benefits are as provided in the current Union Agreement.  Union membership is a condition of employment.
