Certified Journeyperson Painter

Position: CERTIFIED JOURNEYPERSON PAINTER

Location: MAINTENANCE – WILLIAMS LAKE
12 mos., 40.00 hours/week.

Duration: Effective date to be determined. This position is scheduled to work dayshift, typically 7:00 am – 3:30 pm during spring and summer. This position is scheduled to work afternoon shift, typically 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm during the fall and winter.

Rate of Pay:

Level 1: $36.19/ hour
Level 2: $39.14/ hour

Threshold Qualifications:
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• Physically capable of performing all assigned duties
• An Inter-provincial Red-Seal Certificate of Qualification as a Painter
• Current knowledge of all provincial and municipal codes or regulations that have a direct bearing on this trade
• Proven ability to read and understand plans and/or blueprints

Duties Include, but are not limited to:
• Perform all interior and exterior painting, including proper preparation of all surfaces, removal and re-installation of hardware, etc.
• Painting of gym lines, parking lots and game lines
• Estimate time, materials, and manpower required for painting projects
• Maintain inventory of painters’ tools and supplies and request replacements as required
• Apply vinyl and paper wall coverings
• Tint and mix colours
• Maintain and use brush, roller, spray and other related equipment
• Erect and use ladders and scaffolds as requied
• Operate lift and bucket truck as required by WCB
• Ensure safety procedures are observed at all times
