Director of Employment Services

Cedar Crest Society for Community Living is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Director of Employment Services.
This position oversees the day to day operations of all Employment Focused Programs including Employment, Personal Supports Initiative, Youth Transitioning, Outreach as well as the operation of the Thrift Store.
Duties of the Director
Schedules and supervises Program Staff. Participates in grievance resolution amongst staff.
Assists in personnel activities such as interviewing, hiring and training staff and staff discipline issues.
Ensures that the appropriate systems are in place to support and maintain programs.
Supervises expenditures within the existing budget allowance and makes budget recommendations.
Ensures that accurate program and records of people supported are maintained and confidentiality is a priority.
Ensures that all pertinent documentation is complete.
May work as front line staff in the specified programs.
Performs assessments, develops action plans, and coordinates the placement of services to ensure the individuals supported are able to achieve their goals.
Evaluates success and need for change in person centered plans.
Ensures effective communication with persons we support, families, caregivers and staff.
Maintains an effective relationship with government officials.
Maintain liaison with other community organizations to coordinate provision of services, resolve program delivery issues, exchange program information or provide instruction on the operation and use of relevant services.
May represent the Society at community fundraising events or other official functions.
Conducts surveys and studies; makes presentations and maintains a current awareness of developments in the area of employment services.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
A certificate in Human Resources, Counselling or a related field or the equivalent in education and experience is preferred for this position.
A minimum of three years direct program delivery experience in the sector with a demonstrated working knowledge of specific programs, related provincial and community support systems, applicable legislation and policies as well as issues surrounding delivery of employment focused programs.
Previous program management experience is preferred in the Social Services field.
Excellent oral, written, facilitation and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated teamwork, leadership and supervisory skills. Good time and management skills.
Shows the ability to work effectively with program staff, volunteers, agencies and organizations.
