Job Title: Casual Position for Various Programs
Reports to: CMHA – South Cariboo Branch Executive Director

JOB SUMMARY
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) – South Cariboo Branch  has an opening for a casual position for various programs.
The successful candidate for this casual position will be trained to work in 6 programs: Activity/Clubhouse, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Homeless Outreach, Community Navigator, Reception, and Acquired Brain Injury.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Mental Health Worker/Community Social Service or related certification, and related experience of two years; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Class V BC Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract
• Certificates in First Aid and Food Safe

SKILLS, ABILITY AND EXPERIENCE

Ability to:

• work independently and in cooperation with others in a supportive team environment
• communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• knowledge of and ability to use a computer and Office 365 for day to day tasks and reporting
• physically able to carry out the duties of the position
• organize and prioritize
• observe and recognize changes in clients
• establish and maintain rapport with clients
• analyze and resolve problems

Experience and Skills:

• working with individuals with mental health challenges and/or people who use substances
• intermediate computer literacy skills
• conflict resolution and crisis intervention
