Community Support Worker

Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) Position Summary:

The HCSW is a new non-clinical role that provides supports to individuals and residents in assisted living and community licensed facilities. HCSWs are indirectly supervised by nurses or other health care professionals where possible. This program prepares you to help with assessments, communication, and daily activities.

Term: Up to 12 months Paid Training
Vacancies: One (1) position available for training intake of March 2025

Eligibility Requirements:
Entry requirements for the Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) position are based on the minimum
qualifications to register with the BC Health Care Aide Registry. The Education and Skills requirements
include:

Education:
• Grade 10, including the successful completion of English 10 & Math 10, or equivalency.
• Candidates whose first language proficiency is not English must meet the English requirements and provide proof of English language proficiency, please visit this link
 

 Required:
– TB Screening Test – Criminal Record Check Clearance
– COVID19 Fully Vaccinated (2 shots) – Valid First Aid Certificate (with CPR)
– Food Safe Level 1 – Must be a Permanent Resident or a Canadian Citizen
