Nenqayni Wellness Centre Society is a residential Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centre providing holistic healing to First Nations and Inuit youth and families in a safe and secure environment.

Required Tuesday through Thursday weekly 9:00am -5:00pm with possibility to work into full time.

Wage:  $37-$40

Qualified Applicant:

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Have demonstrated experience counselling primarily adult with some youth addictions capabilities
  • Able to deliver a variety of workshops using trauma informed and cognitive behaviour therapy techniques
  • Guide one on one counselling
  • Relevant post-secondary education with equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • A benefit would be having knowledge of Indigenous culture and comfortable with all aspects
  • Able to work with a variety such as single moms, couples, men’s programs.

Additional Requirements:

  •  Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector – Nenqayni will submit
  • Driver’s Abstract
  • Excellent written communication and computer skills
  • Interpersonal awareness
  • Excellent oral communication

  • Commitment to ongoing education/learning

Preferably, the successful candidate will be of Indigenous descent and have a Class 4 Driver’s Licence or be willing to get one within the 3 months.  Reliable transportation to and from Nenqayni Wellness Centre is required.

The Centre operates a smoke-free facility.
