The Nenqayni Wellness Centre (www.nenqayni.com) is a residential alcohol and drug treatment centre, funded by First Nations Health Authority, providing holistic healing to First Nations and Inuit youth, families and communities in a safe and secure environment.
Monday through Friday 1:00pm -9:00pm
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about holistic well-being, providing experienced counselling and who look forward to being a part of transformational healing!
It is an asset if you have any of the following skills/knowledge: Having cultural skills and teachings, on the land knowledge, have knowledge of First Nation’s culture and history, have been dedicated to your own personal growth and well-being, trauma-informed knowledge/skills, mental health training, emotional intelligence training, leadership and communication skills working with adolescents.
Preference given to applicants of First Nation descent.
Applicants MUST have:
· Counselling qualifications and experience working in addictions and with children
· Strong communication skills
· Ability to participate in and lead case management
· Group workshop facilitation skills
· Knowledge of residential schools/Indian day schools impact
· Understanding of intergenerational trauma
· Tools such as Medicine Wheel teachings
· Crisis Prevention Intervention Training *or willing to obtain
· Cultural Safety Training* or willing to obtain
· Willing to participate in hands on cultural activities i.e. Sweats, drumming
· Mental Health Awareness
· Reliable vehicle with Class 5 Drivers Licence & willing to obtain Class 4 within 3 months.
Wage: $35+ depending on education and experience
