Hourly Wage Range: Grid 21 $27.92 – $29.60 with shift premiums as per HEU CBA

Hours of Work: 8 hour shifts 4 on 2 off with half hour meal break

Days Off: Rotating

Shift: Day, from 8:00am – 4:00 pm

Start Date: June 1, 2025
End Date: When incumbent returns

Job Purpose
Provides Intake, monitors and attends to the well-being and safety of shelter guests. Maintains a comfortable, clean and safe environment for shelter guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs security duties for the facility such as patrolling buildings and grounds, escorting unwelcome visitors off the grounds.
  • Observes client behavior, investigates and handles disturbances, deals with client emergencies in accordance with guidelines, and reports incidents to appropriate staff or authorities.
  • Provides clients with information related to the building and explains clients’ responsibilities for duty assignments, provides direction, and monitors and assists clients with duties.
  • Monitors clients and attends to any medical and behavioral needs that arise.
  • Ensures that clients follow shelter rules.
  • Notifies the supervisor of any major problems or emergencies. Responds to emergencies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that logbooks, file notes and other documentation such as incident reports are complete.
  • Performs housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, emptying garbage, cleaning rooms, laundry.
  • Performs minor building maintenance such as changing light bulbs.
  • Reports maintenance needs to supervisor
  • Monitors maintenance and housekeeping supplies
  • Notifies manager of major repair and maintenance requirements as needed and files completed work orders.
