- This role will lead and oversee maintenance activities that are related to value-add projects to ensure efficient installation, modifications and optimization of equipment and processes to enhance productivity, improve operational performance and reduction of cost.
- This position will be involved in all areas of the facility on numerous types of equipment such as conveyor systems, saws, wheel-loaders, strappers, palletizers and PLC controls. This position will also have office work for a large portion of their daily activities (approximately 50%) in addition to being on the plant floor assisting with production line maintenance needs. The administrative portion of this role will be responsible for much of the organization and planning of the maintenance department.
- Candidates for this position should have a good body of knowledge of heavy industrial equipment, and come with a working background of industrial environments and their safety standards. Candidates should be flexible, willing to learn, have the ability to multi-task and are willing and able to work unsupervised.
What Role Do You Play?
- Troubleshoot and maintain production equipment, conveyors, saws, palletizers, strappers, wheel-loaders, and automation systems in real time
- Identify issues, design practical solutions, and implement improvements daily
- Lead small maintenance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Split time 50/50 between hands-on shop work and supervisory/planning tasks (scheduling, parts sourcing, team coaching)
Working Conditions:
- Use of PPE at all times
- Safety awareness and understanding of working around machines is required
- Standing for long periods
- Environment can be dirty, dusty and muddy depending on the time of year and include both indoor and outdoor work.
What Do You Need for this Opportunity?
- Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright (or equivalent heavy industrial experience)
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
- Positive attitude, safety-first mindset, and team player who thrives on variety and problem-solving
- Goal-driven and comfortable working independently or directly with leadership
Schedule:
- The Maintenance Team will be required to provide coverage for all production hours as well some off-production times. It is anticipated that the Maintenance Supervisor’s normal working hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. There will be times when additional hours will be required, but it is anticipated that 40-45 hours per week will be typical with occasional weeks at 50 hours.
- On-call or short-notice changes may be required as production-related issues dictate.
