Assistant Art Gallery Administrator

Canada Summer Jobs Position (Youth 15–30)

 

Location: Quesnel Art Gallery, 500 North Star Road Quesnel

Wage: $18.25/hour

Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours/week (typically Tuesday–Saturday, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.)

Term: July 7 – August 29, 2026 (Canada Summer Jobs Funded Position)

 

Working alongside and receiving mentorship from the Gallery Operations Manager, the Assistant Art Gallery Administrator will gain hands-on experience in arts administration while supporting gallery operations, exhibitions, community outreach, and special events.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the arts, tourism, communications, event planning, marketing, non-profit work, or community development.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support daily gallery and gift shop operations, visitor & member services, and administrative tasks.
  • Assist with exhibition installation, artist engagement, and programming.
  • Create social media content, photography, and promotional materials to help market exhibitions, events, artists, and community initiatives.
  • Support the planning and delivery of events, fundraisers, outreach activities, while building relationships with artists, volunteers, and community partners.

Eligibility

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
