About Us

Brad Paddison Contracting Ltd. is a growing mining contractor based in 100 Mile House, BC. We specialize in construction projects for the mining industry, with a particular focus on mill installation and related construction work. We also provide maintenance services and support for operating mine sites.

Our crews work on projects in a variety of locations, and our office team plays an important role in keeping people, paperwork, and project requirements organized. We’re a small team, so we value people who are practical, dependable, willing to pitch in, and able to take ownership of the things they’re responsible for.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Office & Safety Administrator to join our team and provide support primarily to our Safety Manager, while also helping with administrative needs across the rest of the office.

A significant part of the role will involve helping keep safety-related documentation, records, and information organized and up to date. Our crews work across different projects and work areas, so there are plenty of details to keep track of, including training and certification records, pre-access requirements, and site-specific orientations.

You’ll also assist with document preparation and review, safety statistics and reporting, maintaining records in Excel, communication with crews and worksites, arranging appointments, and following up on outstanding information. You’ll need to be comfortable reaching out to people, keeping track of what you’re waiting for, and following up when you haven’t received a response.

Depending on the needs of the office and your strengths, you may also help with things such as coordinating crew schedules, arranging travel, maintaining employee records, assisting with bookkeeping, or taking on other administrative projects.

The Person We’re Looking For

We’re less concerned about whether you’ve worked in the mining industry or safety administration before and more interested in how you work.

You’re probably a good fit if you:

  • Notice the little things and care about getting them right
  • Follow things through instead of letting them fall off the radar
  • Can keep several things moving at once without losing track of the details
  • Handle interruptions and changing priorities without getting thrown off
  • Are comfortable working independently and taking initiative
  • Are persistent when something needs to be followed up on, even if your first email or phone call goes unanswered

Strong computer skills are important. You should be comfortable managing a busy inbox, working with spreadsheets, organizing information, and generally finding your way around a computer.

Experience with crew coordination, travel arrangements, bookkeeping, or similar administrative work would be an asset, but none of these are requirements.

What We Offer

  • $25–$30+/hour to start, depending on education, skills, and experience
  • Part-time or full-time flexibility
  • A varied role where you’ll have the opportunity to learn how different parts of a growing company operate
  • A small office environment where your work will have a noticeable impact
  • A team that values people who are dependable, practical, organized, and willing to pitch in

If you’re organized, good with details, comfortable juggling a few things at once, and the kind of person who likes leaving things a little more sorted out than you found them, we’d like to hear from you. Please submit your application to headoffice@bpcontracting.com. Be sure to include a cover letter outlining how you would use your skills and experience to contribute to our team and succeed in this role.
