Cedar Crest Society for Community Living is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as Director of Programs for Children.
The Director oversees the day to day operations of the Supported Child Development Program and the Children and Youth with Support Needs Program.
Duties of the Director
Develops, implements, coordinates and evaluates plans and programs designed to ensure that clients’ needs are met. Ensure that program standards, guidelines and policies of the organization are maintained.
Supervises and evaluates program staff’s work. Participates in grievance and resolution amongst staff. Assists in personnel activities such as interviewing, hiring and training staff and staff discipline issues.
Ensures that the appropriate systems are in place to support and maintain programs.
Ensures that accurate program and client records are maintained and that confidentiality is a priority. Ensures that all pertinent documentation is complete.
Ensures effective communication with staff, persons served and families. Maintains an effective relationship with government officials.
Conducts surveys and studies; makes presentations and maintains a current awareness of developments in the area of services to children.
May work as front line staff in the specified programs.
Qualifications:
ECE, a certificate in Human Services, Counselling or a related field or the equivalent in education and experience is preferred for this position.
A minimum of three years direct program delivery experience in the sector with a demonstrated working knowledge of specific programs, related provincial and community support systems, applicable legislation and policies as well as issues surrounding delivery of programs for children.
Previous program management experience preferably in the Social Services field.
Excellent oral, written facilitation and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrates teamwork, leadership, supervisory skills and general management skills.
Ability to work effectively with program staff, volunteers, agencies and organizations.
This is a full time position offering a competitive wage. $31.12 – $31.78 to start – increase after probation. A comprehensive benefit package is provided.
