Food Hub Construction Project Manager
Renumeration: $30/hr x 20hrs/week (negotiable, depending on experience)
Start date: Flexible, starting ASAP until project is complete (3-4 months).
Job Summary/Overview:
The Nuxalk Food Office is looking for an experienced Project Manager to support the construction of a Nuxalk Food Hub (Nuxalk name tbd!). According to priorities already identified by Nuxalkmc, the Food Hub will include a food processing facility, smokehouse, dry and cold food storage (including meat hanging).
Note: Plans are still in the works, so if you are a Nuxalk food worker of any kind, get in touch with your priorities!
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the technical aspects of Nuxalk Food Hub construction
• Communicate and coordinate with relevant Nuxalk admin and staff
• Identify and manage sub-contractors, utilities, and construction workers
• Order and arrange delivery of required equipment and material
• Secure and manage permits, as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Update and communicate with Nuxalk Food Office leadership re. progress and support needs
Key Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Experience in construction and construction project management
• Project and finances management
• Understanding of construction safety and regulations
• Leadership and communication skills
Conditions of hire:
• Valid BC driver’s license, access to own vehicle as needed
