Temporary Primary Teaching Position (1.0 FTE)

September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027

A Temporary (1.0) Primary teacher is required by School District #49 (Central Coast). The assignment will be at Bella Coola Elementary School effective September 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027. Interested teachers who are a member or who are eligible to become a member of the Teacher Regulation Branch are invited to apply. Assignment may change depending on enrollment and curricular needs.

Required Experience:

•Recent success as a elementary classroom teacher;
•Demonstrated ability to unpack the new curriculum (core and curricular competencies);
•Knowledge of Aboriginal World View and understanding;
•Familiarity working with students on IEP’s;
•A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies;
•A commitment to integrate local Indigenous Culture into the curriculum;
•A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills;
•A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting;
•The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community;
•Be willing to submit to a local criminal record check.

The annual salary range for this position is $72,983 to $126,238 (which includes retention & recruitment allowance) plus $1,200 for moving expenses.
