Statistics Canada is hiring in your community for the 2026 Census! Census information is used to plan programs and services that support employment, education, public transportation and healthcare. Join the 2026 Census team for meaningful work and community impact. Enumerator positions are term positions and will go from May to July 2026.

Overview 

The primary responsibility of enumerators is to collect completed census questionnaires from households.
Enumerators must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week on average, as determined by workload, with the majority of the work completed in the evenings and on weekends.
Responsibilities include collecting data from respondents in person through door-to-door visits.
Enumerators receive hourly compensation and are eligible to claim authorized expenses, such as mileage and parking.
The employment period runs from May 2026 to July 2026, depending on the position and location.
Responsibilities 

Establish contact for interview by telephone or in person
Record answer on paper or enter directly into computer database
Conduct interview following the outlines of questionnaires and survey
Check information gathered for completeness and accuracy
Perform general office duties
*Must have access to reliable internet service.
