Position Overview

Osisko Development Corp. – Cariboo Gold Project is currently seeking an Underground Electrician to join our team as we transition into the Cariboo Gold Project. Coming in at this time will set the right candidate up for the transition to when the Project is in full operation. This permanent position is 14 days on and 14 days off rotation in Wells BC. Camp accommodation will be provided. This position is considered to be a fly-in/fly-out position.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent or their designate, the Underground Electrician will take responsibility for the service and repair of wiring, conduits, fixtures, and other electrical devices and systems in a mining infrastructure. This role will also be responsible for the electrical repair of mobile mining equipment and the installation at the Wells Mine and QR Mill sites. The Underground Electrician candidate must possess good communication skills, be self-motivated, and be well organized while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Osisko Development Corp. – Cariboo Gold Project Values.

Compensation:

• Annual salary of $95,000.00 – $115,000.00

Key Responsibilities

Work safely and efficiently and adhere to all Osisko Development Corp. – Cariboo Gold

Project’s safety guidelines while performing all the duties listed below:

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain:
  • Electrical systems in the mine and surface infrastructures
  • Electrically powered mining equipment
• Electronic testing and inspections
• Take care of the padlocking of equipment when required
• Maintaining circuit boards
• Installing and grounding outlets, lighting fixtures and switches
• Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
• Write reports detailing work performed and problems found

To fulfill these responsibilities, you will be expected to manage and handle the following working conditions; A fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyman Electrical ticket
• 5 or more years of experience in the electrical field
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in mining industrial
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code
• Experience in:
  • High voltage termination and splices
  • Reading electrical schematics
• Instrumentation knowledge is an asset
• Ability to work autonomously
• Ability to effectively communicate with others
• Valid Driver’s License
