Overtime Rules:
  • Overtime calculated after 8 hours daily, 40 weekly.
  • Double time calculated after 12 hours daily, 60 weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all pre-job and daily tailgate meetings
  • Wear all PPE appropriate and required for worksite
  • Responsible for confined space activities and record entrance(s) and exit(s) on relative log sheets
  • Assess worksite hazards and fill-in Field Level Hazard Identification (FLHI) form
  • Monitor hot work activities and know how to operate fire extinguisher, inform relative authorities, and safely evacuate the area in case of emergency
  • Monitor atmospheric air quality using electronic gas monitor devices
  • Wear respirator protection mask where necessary
  • Communicate all hazards and conditions involved in the worksite with Supervisor

Qualifications (Mandatory)

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Qualifications (Asset)

Previous Safety Watch / Confined Space Experience an asset, however, all interested candidates encouraged to apply. Market Manager

Job Description:

The CDFMA is on the search for their 2017 Market Manager for the Williams Lake Farmers Market at Boitanio Park. This position is contracted from the first market of the season (May 12th, 2017) through the last (October 6th, 2017) with some Board liaising before and after the contract is completed. The Williams Lake Farmers Market is a positive, exciting place to be, and we are looking for a Manager with great people and organizational skills to make the 2017 season a success!

This position is ideal for a market vendor, but not required. The Market Manager must, however, be present for every market (Fridays 7:30am-2:30pm, May-October).

Qualifications:

Market duties:

  • Install market signs and open vendor parking gate by 8am
  • Assist vendors with vehicle logistics and spot allocation on park site
  • Set up Market Manager tent and sound system by 9:00am
  • Collect fees from vendors, issue receipts, and respond to vendor/customer queries and requests
  • Lock vendor parking gate and collect signage by 2:30pm
    Other duties:
  • Be the contact person for new and existing market members/vendors
  • Maintain the CDFMA membership list
  • Copy and issue membership applications
  • Make deposits into CDFMA credit union account
  • Assist with advertising/promotion

This position is on a contract basis, set at $3000 for the season.

Optometric Assistant

We are looking to hire someone for 4-5 days a week.  This would include working Saturdays from 9-2.

Duties would include answering phones, booking appointments, pre-testing patients for optometrist, performing various tests, operating optometric equipment, dispensing eyewear and contact lenses.  Administrative duties including 3rd party billing, account reconciliation and troubleshooting.

Support Workers

The Cedar Crest Society invites interested persons to apply for positions within our programs. These programs provide assistance to children, youth and adults with special needs. Services are provided in a variety of settings including child care facilities, homes, Society facilities and the community.

The successful candidates will be placed on an eligibility list from which future hires will be made.

 Work to be performed includes:

  • Support to individual children and groups in childcare settings
  • E.C.E. training or Qualification preferred
  • Support to children and youth in summer and after school programs
  • Support to youth and adults in employment and community inclusion programs
  • Supports to individuals requiring overnight respite

These positions all require some degree of weekend and evening work.

Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills, suitable work ethic and the ability to direct, teach and model appropriate behavior to clients of the Society.  Qualifications or experience in the human service field would be preferred.

A valid British Columbia Drivers License, suitable vehicle for work and a criminal record check are required.

Front Counter/Waitstaff

Counter person/waitstaff.  Position will include, cashiering, waiting tables, busing tables, food & beverage service.  This is a part time position approximately 3 hours per day from 11-2 pm Mon-Fri and occasional Saturdays as required.

Qualifications

Must be physically fit  (stairs involved), self motivated and able to work in a high stress environment.  Neat appearance with excellent customer service skills.

Gaming Floor

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide exceptional guest service. Cash handling experience would be an asset.   Must be a team player and be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.

Available to work 2 to 5 shifts per week, including weekday, evenings and weekends day and evening shifts,  Will train those just right hires as we invest in long term employees.  Must have or be able to obtain Serving it Right certification.
