Confined Space Attendant
Irwin’s Safety is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta and provides the highest standard of full cycle safety services throughout Western Canada. Management at Irwin’s Safety & Industrial Labour has extensive experience in power generation and large industrial projects, specializing in confined space, first aid, safety consulting/coordination and rescue services.
10 hour shifts
Location: Williams Lake, BC Travel Required:
- Overtime calculated after 8 hours daily, 40 weekly.
- Double time calculated after 12 hours daily, 60 weekly.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all pre-job and daily tailgate meetings
- Wear all PPE appropriate and required for worksite
- Responsible for confined space activities and record entrance(s) and exit(s) on relative log sheets
- Assess worksite hazards and fill-in Field Level Hazard Identification (FLHI) form
- Monitor hot work activities and know how to operate fire extinguisher, inform relative authorities, and safely evacuate the area in case of emergency
- Monitor atmospheric air quality using electronic gas monitor devices
- Wear respirator protection mask where necessary
- Communicate all hazards and conditions involved in the worksite with Supervisor
Qualifications (Mandatory)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test
Qualifications (Asset)
Previous Safety Watch / Confined Space Experience an asset, however, all interested candidates encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be trained to obtain necessary knowledge and standards required by Irwin’s Safety and our clients. Training location will be in Williams Lake and training dates will be discussed post interview.
