Job Description – Community Kitchen Facilitator
Works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director to plan and implement programs that are within the scope of the Friendship Center’s aim and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities;
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Be self-directed, flexible, and responsive to client needs
- Assist in developing and maintaining client programs and documentation according to contract requirements and organizational standards
- Demonstrate understanding and respect for a variety of cultural differences
- Collaborate with other Aboriginal organizations and agencies to share resources and strengthen services for mutual clients
- Support families by assisting with budgeting, nutrition, and cooking skills
Qualifications;
.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent preferred
- Food Safe Certification or equivalent
- Relevant skills, abilities, and experience related to community services
- Experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Willingness to volunteer and assist beyond regular job duties when required
- Computer literacy required (stats)
- Valid BC Driver’s License and reliable transportation (preferred)
- Ability to take direction from the Executive Director
Hours of Work:
25 hours a week (part-time) – $25.00 per hour plus benefits
Hours to be Flexible– may require evening and weekend work, which will be compensated with equivalent time off -only approved by the Executive Director.
