Position Title: Permanent Part-Time Maintenance Worker

Salary Range/Classification: between $25.95 and $29.76 Grid 10 – dependent on Step Level
Shift Schedule: 2 days (15 hours) per week, 8am-4pm (flexibility in days of the week)
Work Location: Based out of Seasons House, performing duties across all sites

The Quesnel Shelter & Support Society is a non-profit society and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Society advocates for and provides minimal-barrier housing and support services to those in the Quesnel region who are low-income and who are hard-to-house for a variety of reasons, including lack of affordable housing, poverty, mental illness, substance misuse, racism, other forms of discrimination or abusive family situations.
The Building Maintenance Worker performs maintenance & repairs related to buildings, grounds and equipment, in one or more areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting and grounds-keeping.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated suitability to work with disadvantaged and challenging adults in a diverse environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and seeks appropriate supervision when needed.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated physical/mental abilities to perform the duties of the job.
- Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and maintain client/worker boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to organize the work.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Education/Knowledge
- Grade 10, plus related vocational training such as building maintenance course.
- Training and Experience
- Two (2) years recent related experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- WHIMS
- First Aid
