Senior Water Resources Engineer

We are currently seeking an individual in the role of:
Senior Water Resources Engineer

Reporting to the Superintendent of Tailings and Water. The Senior Water Resource Engineer will be responsible for developing site wide water management plans and improvement programs.

They will work closely with the engineer of record toward improving water management and water sustainability of a broad network of operating and legacy tailings facilities, water supply dams, and water management and water supply infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with our management systems and all necessary corporate and legal requirements as they evolve

 Responsibilities
 Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Develop and implement a site-wide operational water balance using GoldSim to inform the development or upgrading of site water management infrastructure and operating procedures for the tailings and water management facilities on site
  • Develop and maintain water quality models in Goldsim
  • Maintain the water management plan
  • Collaborate in the implementation of the environmental systems at site
  • Develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve the water management systems
  • Oversee development and review of design plans, specifications, schedule and permitting support for water-related civil projects
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the projects and meet overall production and operational targets and objectives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate governance requirements for water management
  • Contribute technical expertise in water management for the existing operation and for studies of future development potential
  • Technical writing for operations and project documents, including OMS manuals, as well as technical review of reports from external consultants
  • Provide necessary reporting to site, corporate and government agencies
  • Coach junior staff and provide opportunities, guidance and mentorship to develop their skills

SCOPE OF POSITION

Ashcroft Terminal has an immediate opening for a Terminal Coordinator. In this position, you will be responsible to ensure the efficient functioning of the office, and will assist with providing reception duties, office administration and basic accounting. This is a part-time position comprising of week and weekend days. To succeed in this position, you must be flexible, extremely organized and able manage and keep track of changing priorities throughout the day. As a fast-paced small office with dynamic needs, the role of Terminal Coordinator will be expected to take on other duties and responsibilities not specified below, as required and as the business necessitates, on an occasional or on-going basis.

The position will require you to provide assistance in these areas:

  • Update head-office in Vancouver of all prior-day’s activities by 10am, and prepare correspondence as required
