This posting is to establish a pre-qualified pool of applicants (applicant inventory) who will be eligible to apply on full-time, permanent part-time, and temporary positions in Income Assistance offices in the following locations: Trail, Merritt, Nelson, Cranbrook, Williams Lake, Oliver, Powell River, Quesnel, Salmon Arm, Sechelt, Prince George, Prince Rupert and Hope.

EAWs determine eligibility for assistance and deliver modern, consistent, accessible, and secure income and disability assistance services to assist British Columbians overcome social and economic barriers to independence. Conflict resolution and interview skills would be an asset in this challenging position when working with sensitive situations and distressed clients facing a personal crisis.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Secondary School graduation or equivalent
  • Significant experience delivering a high standard of customer service in a high volume, fast paced, rapidly changing environment (in-person, via virtual technologies or over the telephone), recent experience is preferred.
  • Sound experience working with various computer applications including MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Journeymen Millwrights

Mcleod-Minnabarriet is currently seeking part-time Journeymen Millwrights. The position is for Fridays and Saturdays, and starts at $40.00 per hour plus Living Out Allowance (LOA).

The ideal candidate will be expected to perform basic millwright duties, including but not limited to: installing, maintaining, upgrading and fabricating machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in an industrial establishment.

JOB TITLE: Supported Child Development Assistant

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Permanent Full Time (35 hours per week)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous experience working with children with special needs

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:

Working with children with higher needs. Able to work in a team environment. Assists CDC staff to carry out developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for the children. Utilizes teaching techniques that include modeling, observing, questioning, and demonstrating. Assists staff in setup and cleanup and ensures a healthy and safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Working towards or a degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education/ HUMS and recent experience with working with children.

2. Willing to obtain First Aid Certificate as per Community Care Facility Act.

3. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

4. Well-developed oral, written and communication skills; good organizational, time and general management skills; and good computer skills.

6. Ability to relate well to children and parents; work as part of a team and promote positive staff relations; ability to successfully interact with a variety of personality types and promote positive staff relations.

7. Ability to physically and emotionally carry out the duties of the position.

8. Current satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

9. Valid driver’s license needed.

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week

Provides a variety of administrative and general clerical duties related to Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre services, and other related activities as assigned by the Operations Manager.

HOURS OF WORK: 25 hours per week

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Certificate in a Business Administration Program; data entry, accurate typing, accounts receivable, excellent computer skills and knowledge of Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Suite. The individual must have the personality and ability to relate well to children, the public and staff in promoting a healthy working environment. Must undergo a criminal record check screening with satisfactory results. Must also hold a valid driver’s license and provide a current driver’s abstract.
