Child and Family Services Self Government Program Coordinator (Contract Position)
This exciting position will create the supports for delegated Child and Family Services programs under NStQ Self Government; it offers a unique opportunity to create new and innovative culturally responsive programming. In this position you will be working with a team of individuals who are dedicated to establishing Self Government for their communities.
Who We Are:
The Northern Shuswap Tribal Council (NSTC) office in Williams Lake supports the four NStQ communities of Soda Creek/Deep Creek, Williams Lake, Stswecem’c Xgat’tem and Canim Lake – through the provision of support services and coordination, and represent a combined membership of more than 2,500 members who reside both on, and off reserve.
The Position:
We are looking for a Program Coordinator who will:
· Create linkages with the agencies currently involved in Child and Family services
· Research and identify the current needs within the NStQ communities on and off reserve
· Establish the foundation for family support programs under self-government.
· Identify the scope of programs and services to be provided
· Lead the team to innovate and establish strong programs that meet the needs of NStQ Children and Families.
We offer a competitive salary. Travel will be required for this position. The contract extends to March 31, 2018 with a possibility of additional work. A criminal record check is mandatory for this position.
The Location:
The position will be based out of the Northern Shuswap Tribal Council in Williams Lake in the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region that is known for its authentic wilderness, hiking, spectacular fishing & hunting, world-class mountain biking, watersports, and winter activities such as snowmobiling, x-country skiing and snowshoeing.
