Relief Janitor

The Lytton First Nation is currently recruiting a Relief Janitor for the Health Department. Their office is located at 1535 St. Georges Road, Lytton, BC. This position is classified as on-call/relief, working under the support and supervision provided by the Health Department Manager. The Janitor is responsible for providing all building maintenance, support, services and duties and performing a wide range of simple to complex jobs.

The Role:

As the Associate Program Director, you will be responsible for the management of the Open Door Group employment services center. In the Kamloops offices you will be responsible for a team of approximately twenty staff. You are the key person in supporting and leading the team in the delivery of employment services, while ensuring the services received by clients are in line with program expectations and Open Door Group’s customer service standards. You will also maintain and build relationships within the community and with our funding partners. While our regular working hours generally fall between Monday and Friday, as with all management positions at Open Door Group, candidates must be willing to work flexible hours when necessary, including evening and weekends. Travel within BC may be required.

 

Primary responsibilities of the Associate Program Director include:

1. Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the programs and services at the employment centre.

 

2. Team Management and Development: Provide day-to-day support to staff in the following areas: career development, learning, and marketing/sales, resulting in positive engagement and program outcomes. Instil a human capital development and “coaching” culture among staff, resulting in high performing teams.

 

3. Program Management: Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates programs against contract performance requirements and annual goals.

 

4. Build and Maintain Partnerships: Participate in community engagement strategies that build on Open Door Group’s partnerships within the community. Participate in marketing strategies that drives business (referrals, community and job placements) to Open Door Group’s programs and services. Support the Program Director in governance meetings with the government and non-government partners.

 

5. Reporting and Evaluation: Keep the Program Director informed of the day-to-day operations and of the status of established goals. Provide regular finance and program performance reporting to the Program Director.

 

What we’re looking for:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social/Human Services, or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Unrestricted driver’s license and use of motor vehicle

 

 

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years direct service experience in career development, learning environments and working with people with disabilities or faced with barriers achieving or maintaining employment.

• A proven track record of exceeding goals and have a triple-bottom-line orientation.

• Evidenced ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement; the ability to balance program delivery against the realities of the budget.

• Demonstrated ability to develop programs, staff, and processes to ensure the organization operations runs smoothly.

• Supervisory experience.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated knowledge of career development and/or learning theories and techniques.

• Demonstrated knowledge of BC labour market

• Advanced MS Office skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of staff and stakeholders.
