Aboriginal Supported Child Development: Youth Worker

The Aboriginal Supported Child Development Youth Worker is responsible to provide support services to clients aged 7 – 18 who may or may not be diagnosed with special needs. The worker will provide individual, family, and group support to both urban and rural based Tsilhqot’in and Ulkatcho member families. This position requires high levels of intra-agency collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred requirements:

  • BA in early childhood development or related field (e.g. child and youth care, psychology, social work, education); however, a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, or related filed will be considered;
  • Current Child Care Facilities and Licensing approved first aid certificate
  • Certificate in Infant Development and Supported Child Development (UBC) is an asset
  • Knowledge of Tsilhqot’in and Ulkatcho culture and traditions
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s License and provide a Driver’s Abstract
  • Successful applicants must pass Criminal Record checks and Criminal Record Review screening as a condition of employment
