Employment Coordinator

CCATEC (Cariboo Chilcotin Aboriginal Training Employment Centre) located in Williams Lake is seeking an experienced Employment Coordinator who will provide an Employment Assistance Service. Services will be provided to First Nations who reside in the Cariboo region.

Duties will include but not limited to:

1. Collect and maintain employment and training information
2. Assess individual barriers to employment and training
3. Interview clients to determine their suitability for employment or training
4. Assist clients with their resume
5. Maintain a job vacancy bulletin board
6. Refer clients to suitable employment opportunities or contract training activities
7. Prepare and assist clients with their job interviews
8. Network with local employers to promote clientele
9. Prepare and finalize contract documents to ensure that legal and program requirements are met
10. Complete required written reports to CCATEC
11. Development and market CCATEC centralized training programs

Qualifications:

1. Travel required – must possess a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
2. Relevant and identified training and education
3. Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Programs
4. Experience in negotiation, presentations and contract management
5. Knowledge of training institutions, resources, local Labour market and systems is required
6. Experience in facilitation, negotiation and contract management will be an asset
7. Minimum of Grade 12

Full time: Monday – Friday

Community Development Coordinator

The Village of Clinton is a small community in south central British Columbia and is located near Kamloops, Vancouver and Prince George. The Community Development Coordinator is an engaging role that will allow the successful applicant an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Clinton residents. The CDC provides marketing, promotional and project-based strategies to improve the town and attract investment. They will be responsible for gathering and implementing ideas and initiatives focused on supporting business and industry, economic diversification, and workforce development.

Key priorities will include:

  • Promote the Village of Clinton using a variety of media including the design and development of print and electronic ads and social media;
  • Undertake tourism and business development and promotional initiatives;
  • Provide supporting services to local non-profit organizations;
  • Review and carry out tasks identified in various Village plans such as the Economic Development Strategy, the Strategic Plan, and the Tourism Plan.
  • Execute the research and preparation of grant proposals on a wide variety of topics;
  • Provide coverage for front desk as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Demonstrated organizational skill
  • Experience working in Public or Business Administration;
  • Professional, friendly conduct and an ability to work in a small team;
  • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Experience writing successful grant proposals;
  • Ability to manage numerous projects and deadlines simultaneously and to balance changing workloads and priorities;
  • Community engagement experience;

  • Experience in a local government setting is an asset.
  • A post-secondary Degree or diploma in public administration, business administration, or a related field is an asset.

The position offers a salary based on a 35 hour week. A full range of benefits are offered for this position. The wage for the position is $25-$27/hour depending on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. Flexible work arrangements may be considered. This position provides coverage for an indefinite leave, but permanent options may be considered at a later time.

The Community Engagement Planner is responsible for the organization and execution of all duties as follows:

1.    Build Centre awareness within community and the Cariboo Chilcotin
