Job Purpose

Provides Intake, monitors and attends to the well-being and safety of shelter guests. Maintains a comfortable, clean and safe environment for shelter guests.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs security duties for the facility such as patrolling buildings and grounds, escorting unwelcome visitors off the grounds.
  • Observes client behavior, investigates and handles disturbances, deals with client emergencies in accordance with guidelines, and reports incidents to appropriate staff or authorities.
  • Provides clients with information related to the building and explains clients’ responsibilities for duty assignments, provides direction, and monitors and assists clients with duties.
  • Monitors clients and attends to any medical and behavioral needs that arise.
  • Ensures that clients follow shelter rules.
  • Notifies the supervisor of any major problems or emergencies. Responds to emergencies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that logbooks, file notes and other documentation such as incident reports are complete.
  • Performs housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, emptying garbage, cleaning rooms, laundry.
  • Performs minor building maintenance such as changing light bulbs.
  • Reports maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Monitors maintenance and housekeeping supplies.
  • Notifies manager of major repair and maintenance requirements as needed and files completed work orders.

The Cariboo Gold Project, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd., is Osisko Development Corp.’s (“Osisko Development” or the “Company”) flagship Project is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to be part of the Finance team for the project in Wells B.C, which is approximately 79 kilometres west of Quesnel, British Columbia.
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Clerk contributes to the accounting team in particular to entering, processing, paying, and following up on invoices as well as resolving, reconciling, and balancing vendor accounts and statements. The position is also the gatekeeper for internal control of DOA and assisting in audit requirements from external and internal auditors, as well as government audits. Sense of urgency, accuracy, and efficiency are the keys to the position when prioritizing the tasks.
Contract Duration: January 2025 to February 2026

Main Responsibilities
•Review and enter new vendor requisition and update existing vendor information in Sage;
•Monitor queries in the A/P inbox, respond to inquiries, and distribute incoming correspondence, as required;
•Enter vendor invoices and credit notes in Sage and confirm three-way match process has been performed;
•Analysis of vendor accounts and ensure payment is up to date;
•Communicate with other departments and ensure the follow-ups of approvals comply with SOX;
•Prepare payment batch and send out remittance advices when paid;
•Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies;
•Prepare cheque/EFT/wire requisitions/bank deposits;
•Prepare and enter expenses for corporate credit card account statements, ensure proper approval and correct coding;
•Verify and enter all expense reports for out-of-pocket expenses;
•Assist in AP month-end closing process (accrual, statement reconciliation, etc.);
•Primary contact for vendors and business units, respond and resolve conflicts;
•Ensure corporate policy, procedures, and financial internal controls are followed;

Provide backup for receptionist services;
•Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
•Post-Secondary Diploma in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent;
•2 to 3 years of relevant experience;
•Ability to work both independently and within a team environment;
•Experience working with Sage 300 is considered an asset.

Job Summary

A unique experience for outdoor enthusiasts to create and maintain recreation sites and trails.

Recreation Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC) is excited to hire for the 2025 Seasonal Maintenance Crew Program. Up to 14 high-energy, collaborative, physically active individuals will be hired as Seasonal Maintenance Crew members to work on a variety of outdoor recreation projects from May to the end of August across the province. Please refer to the location appendix in this competition for specific information for each location/recreation district.

Through this program, RSTBC will provide valuable work experience for those interested in Recreation Management. Seasonal Maintenance Crew Members will gain teamwork, leadership, and communication skills, as well as operational experience building and maintaining recreation sites and trails.

Under the supervision of a Seasonal Maintenance Crew Leader, typical work duties will include:
•    Recreation and campsite maintenance such as building, repairing, and maintaining facilities (e.g. picnic tables, boardwalks, foot bridges, signage, kiosks, outhouses, docks);
•    Trail building and maintenance on many different types of trails;
•    Interacting with recreation users by providing information, responding to elementary questions, addressing minor conflicts, and escalating significant issues to their supervisor or a RSTBC district staff member.

The Seasonal Maintenance Crew Members will be distributed as 8 teams across the province.  Crews will travel to the far reaches of their recreation district and may travel to neighbouring districts for projects; therefore, you must be willing to work up to a 10-hour day and be willing to overnight in remote locations for some projects.  Work days will be Monday to Friday, for 70 hours every two-week pay period.

Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:

  • Grade 12 graduation or GED; AND one of the following:
  • Partially complete, or completed degree or diploma in an Outdoor Recreation Management or a Natural Resource Management related field AND 4 months (full time) *related work or volunteer experience; OR
  • Six months (full time) *related work or volunteer experience.

*Related work or volunteer experience may include:

  • Experience working with others in a team environment.
  • Experience with construction, carpentry, trail building, chainsaw use, small engines, all-terrain vehicles, hand tools, and/ or power tools.
  • Experience working outdoors, such as:
  • Field work relating to forestry, conservation, ecology, or other natural resource fields

  • Other outdoor recreation facilities or remote environments.

  • Degree or diploma in an Outdoor Recreation, Tourism, Forestry or Natural Resource Management; OR
  • Grade 12 graduation or GED AND two years of relevant work or volunteer experience.
  • Preference may be given to applicants who have a degree or diploma in the above fields AND two years or more experience.

Relevant experience may include:

  • Experience leading others. This may be in an academic or work-related setting and may include peers, workers, or volunteers.
  • Experience planning, researching, organizing, and implementing projects.

The Community Health (HCAP Home Support) program requires a total commitment of about 1.5 years. Successful candidates are expected to be available 37.5 hours a week including mornings, evenings, and weekends during the program. They may also work as health care support workers for up to 12 days before starting school. The education portion of the program typically consists of eight months. After graduation, employees are required to fulfill the Return of Service Agreement for 12 months.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
