Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, the Cook is responsible for the assembly, cooking, plating and garnishing of all food products according to Boston Pizza specifications.

  • Ensure that meals are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with Boston Pizza recipes and assembly manuals and charts.
  • Ensure that all products received via delivery meet Boston Pizza specification, that the invoicing is correct in respect to quantity and quality.
  • Prepare and follow a daily prep sheet to indicate levels on hand and amounts required.
  • Clean and organize the kitchen at all times. Follow all required checklists and cleaning schedules during and following his/her shift.
  • Assure the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment; identify equipment needs for food preparation and service.
  • Ensure food quality by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage, and sanitation of food products.
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.
  • Other duties as required.

Resource Development Associate (student)

The primary role of Resource Development Associate is to support the Manager of Resource and Community Development with Days of Caring ®, Seeing is Believing Tours, bc211.ca promotions, Services Map and community events.

Prior event planning, project management and public speaking experience is an asset for this role, as well as and exemplary communication skills.  This 30-hour per week position is for a 10-week term for the duration of the summer.

Successful applicant must have access to a vehicle and be able to lift 20 lbs. Due to funding requirements for this role, applicants must be returning to post-secondary program in September.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent in a natural resource field.
  • Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Registered Forest Technologist [RFT] with the ABCFP.  Immediately eligible for registration is defined as currently a RFT member in good standing in another Canadian jurisdiction and can immediately transfer to the ABCFP.  It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure eligibility.

Residential Care Worker for Youth-Dolphin Adventure Experience Limited.

RESIDENTIAL CARE WORKER FOR YOUTH

 

DESCRIPTION: Worker is responsible for providing care to both individual and groups of youth with mental health disabilities in a residential setting. The worker assists in the emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs of the youth. Sound judgment, stress management and good role modeling skills are required.

 

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overnight shift work required.
  • Work in a rural setting and commute approximately one hour from 100 Mile House to the residential setting.
  • Have a reliable vehicle to get to work and back and drive youth to appointments.
  • Must have great written and oral communication skills as well as very good computer skills. Writing daily logs, monthly reports, communicating via email is essential to the position.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for residents.
  • Ensure youth clearly understand household rules and expectations.
  • Must be flexible and communicate well and openly with other staff members.
  • Must have good time management and organizational skills.
  • Build trusting, supportive and very professional relationship with the youth in care.
  • Have knowledge and skill in using techniques with dealing with youth and the ability to control negative behaviours.
  • Reinforce conflict resolutions, positive communication, showing respect through positive role modeling and supportive listening.
  • Ability to react clearly and quickly in crisis situations and maintain control of the environment.
  • Have great motivational skills to support youth in care.
  • Represent the program in a professional manner in the community and keep confidentiality.
  • Support and assist youth’s social and interpersonal skills through tasks of daily living and recreational and program activities.
  • Provide and participate in recreational activities designed to meet the needs and capabilities and interest of the youth.
  • Able to correctly distribute medication to youth and keep a record sheet.
  • Keep daily logs and tracking sheets for youth.
  • Encourage youth to participate in school program with teachers and school support workers, work program, animal care and horseback riding.
  • Perform preparation of all meals, household chores and maintenance of home.
  • Comply with all program policies and procedures.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have experience working with youth or caring for youth or adults with or without disabilities. (Degree/Diploma in Human Services, Social Services, and/or Youth Care certification preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal communication skills as well as computer literate person required.
  • Reliable, registered vehicle, driver’s licence and clean record, and provide a Driver’s Abstract.
  • A clean a criminal record check and a clear history with the Ministry of Children and Families done through our resource.
  • An up to date First Aid Certificate

 

 

Salary starts at $225 per 24 hour shift during 3 month probation. After 3 month probation period it increases to $250 per 24 hour shift. Extended health care and WCB are included.
