The Ashcroft Terminal is currently seeking an Equipment Operator & Labourer. The Equipment Operator is responsible for efficiently assisting in the running of site operations, while ensuring that all related administrative and organizational details are taken care of in a timely and appropriate manner. As a fast-paced growing company, the role of the Equipment Operator will provide an opportunity to work with a variety of people both internally and externally. The position will be expected to take on other duties and responsibilities not specified below, as required and as the business necessitates, on an occasional or on-going basis.

Roles, Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• As required, perform general labour tasks to assist with site maintenance
• Communicate efficiently with Terminal Management
• Ensure all operators, contractors and consultants follow the guidelines provided in the Ashcroft Terminal Health & Safety Manual
• Complete detailed and accurate timecards
• Ensure accurate record keeping of tasks onsite (load counting, weights, etc.)
• Ensure paperwork related to trans-loading is complete and accurate
• When necessary complete onsite orientation with visitors or contractors
• Read and sign off on all related company SOP’s
• Complete daily equipment checks

Education Requirements:

• Must have completed minimum Grade 12
• Current first aid certification is an asset

Experience Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years driving experience
• Experience in the transportation industry would be an asset
• Experience in trans-loading and forklift operating a requirement

Technical Skill Requirements:

• Excellent English language skills in written and verbal communication
• Must hold a valid BC Driver’s License

Soft Skill Requirements:

• Strong work ethic and self-motivated/self-directed, with an ability to work independently using sound judgement and initiative
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks
• Must have proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Must have the ability to make reasoned decisions

The Ashcroft Travel Centre Esso is currently seeking Fuel/Convenience Attendants.

General Duties Include:

• Provide individualized, friendly, helpful and courteous customer service
• Enable customers to make their purchases in a timely and accurate fashion
• Maintain a clean, tidy and well stocked environment
• Ensure products and services sold are up to standards and expectations of management and customers
• Opening/Closing the travel centre
• Welcoming customers and helping them find products and services sold including fuel, propane, convenience, lottery tickets, truckers lounge, etc.
• Generating lottery tickets
• Cleaning, sanitizing and restocking the store, bathrooms and fuel pump area
• Counting and balancing tills
• Disposing of trash
• Stocking and cleaning shelves and floors
• Merchandising products
• Counting inventory
• Filling up propane tanks
• Sweeping dirt and debris and shoveling snow from fuel areas
• Other related duties as required

Qualifications:

• Previous experience accepting payment through a point of sales device
• Previous experience using a till
• Knowledge of BC considered an asset
• Good cash handling skills
• Proven strong customer service skills
• Good communication skills (oral and written)
• Physically able to lift and carry up to 25lbs and stock shelves
• Able to follow directions
• Excellent ethics
