Head Cooks – Fire Camps

Summit Camps, based out of Kamloops, is currently seeking Head Cooks for Fire Camps.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating with Camp Manager to ensure operational success in a remote camp serving from 100-500 people
  • Preparing and/or overseeing preparation of complete daily menu
  • Implementing weekly menus to reflect contract requirements, healthy choices and guest preferences
  • Assisting camp manager to order food and supplies based on camp occupancy, menu plan and existing inventory
  • Maintaining food budget within guidelines
  • Assigning tasks, providing training and guidance, and monitoring the work of all kitchen staff
  • Ensuring food quality, presentation and timing is met on all items
  • Assisting with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup as needed
  • Organizing and assisting with unloading and proper storage of grocery orders
  • Following up with suppliers regarding any product or delivery issues
  • Ensuring food safety standards are met and maintained at all times
  • Ensuring all kitchen, food storage, and food service areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition
  • Implementing Summit’s Safety Management System
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and conduct at all times

Qualifications:

  • FoodSafe Level 2 required for head cook in fire camps
  • Red Seal Certificate is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years successful experience as a Head Cook/Chef for greater than 100 people
  • Experience cooking in a remote camp situation required
  • Experience with inventory and ordering procedures, and staying within a set budget

Head Server

Kumsheen Rafting Resort’s Cutting Board Restaurant is currently seeking an experienced server for a seasonal position to work with our great restaurant team from August 01 until Labour Day weekend. The position starts at $16.00 per hour plus tips.

The position of Server entails almost every aspect of the dining “experience.” Dining is best enjoyed when served by knowledgeable, cooperative and well-mannered servers. Servers are not only providers of food but are also ambassadors, salespersons and representatives of Kumsheen as a whole. Guest experiences are strongly influenced by the service they receive in a restaurant.

The successful candidate should possess a pleasant, calm and friendly manner; have a good memory; display initiative; exhibit innovation, creativity and flexibility; and have a winning attitude.

Servers describe menu and daily specials, take orders, serve food and beverages, and make sure that guests have everything they need to enjoy their meal. They are responsible for coordinating and communicating with the front and back of the house personnel to provide a dining experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.

Prep Chef

Big Bar Guest Ranch, located outside of Clinton, is currently seeking a Prep Chef as soon as possible for the remainder of the summer season to assist the Head Chef in preparing lunch and dinner (buffet style) for both guests and staff. The Prep Chef will also help cover the kitchen on the Head Chef’s days off. The dining room can hold up to 50 people at one time plus 10-12 staff members. You will receive two days off a week and work up to 8 hours a day. You will live on site since the ranch is 50km up a dirt road, one hour from Clinton and three hours from Kamloops.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of kitchen experience.

Book keeper – The 108 Golf Resort

The 108 Golf Resort needs a part-time bookkeeper to join the accounting department. We are looking for 24 hours per week. This can be either three 8-hour days, four 6-hours days or some other mix. Once the right applicant is found, we will work with that individual to set a schedule that benefits both the company and the new employee.

As the bookkeeper, you will:
• Process a variety of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Resolve discrepancies and variances
• Prepare bank deposits & cheque runs
• Prepare quarterly GST returns
• Run bi-weekly payroll
• Post month-end and quarter-end journal entries
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Assist with monthly & quarterly account reconciliations

Our ideal candidate has the following experience and traits:
• Proficiency using Quickbooks
• Excellent Excel skills
• 2+ years’ experience with A/P, A/R, bank & G/L reconciliations
• Payroll experience
• Experience with month-end/year-end close process
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Attention to detail is a must-have
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Is self-motivated
