Position Overview:

The Financial Worker will be responsible for managing and overseeing all financial transactions and financial controls for the Society. This role is critical in ensuring the financial integrity and accountability of the organization’s operations and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all financial transactions related to the Society’s operations and initiatives.
  • Manage payroll processing and the benefit package for Society employees.
  • Verify the accuracy of financial documents, including payments, claims, invoices, and related records.

  • Implement and enforce appropriate financial controls based on the Society’s needs.

  • Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of the CCATEC service.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with SAGE 50 accounting software and office-related tasks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contracting procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative in managing financial operations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local Indigenous communities.
  • Experience working with Indigenous-led organizations is preferred.
  • Criminal record check required.
  • Willingness to travel to CCATEC communities as required.

The City of Dawson Creek is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team! Under the direction of the Civic Properties and Facilities Manager or designate, this role is responsible for ensuring the functionality and upkeep of city facilities through routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs.

What You Need:

·        Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

·        Grade 12 education.

·        Able to obtain and maintain Security/Reliability Clearance.

·        Completion of a building maintenance, facilities management, or trades-related program.

·        Worked with DDC systems such as Reliable Controls

·        Minimum 2-5 years of experience in building maintenance, repair, or a related trade.

·        Working knowledge of municipal building codes, WorkSafeBC regulations, and BC safety standards.

·        Hands-on experience working with and repairing HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general repairs.

What You’ll Do:

·        Identify and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, coordinating with contractors and vendors as needed.

·        Perform minor repairs on heating, cooling, ventilation, and plumbing systems, as well as general upkeep tasks like painting, drywall repair, and filter changes.

·        Respond to service requests from leaseholders and employees, managing work orders in a CMMS program and ensuring timely resolution.

·        Assist and oversee contractors performing repairs, renovations, and equipment servicing within municipal buildings.

·        Monitor DDC systems, address alarms, respond to emergency facility issues (e.g., floods), and ensure compliance with health, fire, safety, and security policies.

·        Keep tenants informed about maintenance activities, manage expectations during disruptions, and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals for project planning.

·        Order, pick up, and manage parts and inventory needed for maintenance and renovation projects.

·        Maintain logs of inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks to ensure compliance and track facility performance.

·        Use manual and power tools for maintenance tasks and perform renovations on municipal buildings and facilities.

Environmental Technician

Environmental Technician

The Cariboo Gold Project, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd., is Osisko Development Corp.’s (“Osisko Development” or the “Company“) flagship Project is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to be part of the Environmental Team as an Environmental Technician for the Cariboo Gold Project in Wells B.C. This position’s work will primarily be at the project in Wells BC, but will also require travel to the QR Mill located on the 500 Rd. This will be a camp position, 14 days in, 14 days out.

Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, the Environmental Technician carries out sampling and post-field documentation of groundwater, meteorology, vegetation, dust fall, ML/ARD (Metal Leaching / Acid Rock Drainage), and other disciplines.

The Environmental Technician also undertakes routine inspections of construction, and site activities to document compliance with permits and Standard Operating Procedures, as well as identifies and implements environmental protection/mitigation and sediment and erosion control prescriptions. The Technician will prepare reports, QA/QC analysis, undertake data entry, and demonstrate high-quality workmanship.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Sample, prepare, and ship – groundwater and effluent
  • Receiving environment surface drinking water samples, in accordance with the field sampling manual
  • Ability to follow SOPs with a departmental consistency, enabling good QA/QC
  • Installation and maintenance of sediment and erosion control measures
  • Operate hydrology and weather station and record data
  • Inspect, install, and ensure proper operation of water management structures
  • Record data and activities in a logbook and excel while being able to assess and report noncompliance and trigger levels
  • Complete flow measurements at surface water sites and maintain the calibration requirements
  • Assist in various environmental projects as required such as wildlife monitoring, aquatics effects monitoring, and hydrotechnical surveys
  • Qualifications: 
  • College or University degree in an environmentally related discipline
  • 1-3 years’ experience of environmental sampling, fieldwork, data management, reporting, QA/QC in a bush environment
  • Knowledge of federal and BC laws/regulations for the exploration/mining industry
  • Environmental sampling experience in the mining industry in British Columbia is an asset
  • Microsoft Office experience: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Office, and data management software (e.g. EQWIN); other software experience will be considered an asset (e.g. GIS, R-code, SysStat, etc)
  • Experience with: ArcGIS and/or spatial analysis experience
  • Level 1 First Aid and Transportation Endorsement
  • Ideal candidate will have field sampling/data management experience from some of the following disciplines: construction monitoring, hydrology, meteorology, vegetation, dust fall, ML/ARD, wildlife, aquatic biology, land reclamation, contaminated sites, erosion/sediment management, hazardous waste, spill cleanup/reporting, drainage control
  • Physically fit and able to carry out physical activities, including lifting heavy objects, long days hiking, loading/packing gear, and installing sediment/erosion structures
  • Team-oriented but driven to produce personal results
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic work environment that requires frequent adjustments to planned activities and approaches to get the work done
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and coordination skills and a fast learner
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • The work is split approximately between office (40%) and outdoors (60%), depending on seasonal sampling requirements. Outdoor work includes working year-round in extreme weather, around heavy equipment, on uneven ground, water, boats, around wild animals, and on snowmobiles and ATVs

Overview: The Quesnel & District Child Development Centre (Q&DCDC) is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Lhtako Dene people.   • Two-year Social Service Diploma or comparable Human Service Diploma
  • Preferred two years in a related field working with First Nation, Metis and Inuit children and families in a human service capacity.
