Currently seeking qualified candidate for Weekend Supervisor position on permanent shift (8:00am to 11:00pm), Saturday and Sunday and one 7.5-hour weekday shift for a total of 37.5 hours/week. Relevant experience and education are required.

General Description and special skills/qualifications: Previous supervisory experience preferred, proven knowledge adolescent recreation, knowledge of First Nations culture, ability to work in crisis and high-pressure situations, Level 1 first aid or willing to obtain, sets examples of appropriate behaviour and conduct, group presentations, group and individual counseling, completes required shift summaries and other required documentation, coaches and schedules staff.

Client Connection Coordinator

Client Connection Coordinator is the first point of contact for client referrals and is responsible for supporting families with children seeking and receiving services, maintaining the client information management system, supporting assigned program(s) and staff to achieve service delivery within minimum standards. The Client Connection Coordinator participates in a multidisciplinary team approach executing key deliverables that align with agency mandate, policy, and procedure.

Wage: $35.94/hour

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Advocate for families. Receive the request for service, contact families and the referral source, provide family with information on Centre, identify red flags in child development, gather information on the family’s concerns and background and take the family’s information to the weekly intake meetings. Refer families to appropriate community professionals and agencies when further intervention services are required.
  2. Manage the client information systems, i.e. intake, forms, files, data entry, support in SIRF reporting, archives and a three month call back for discharged clients. Remain connected as the family’s consistent point of contact throughout their service.
  3. Support the senior leadership team by providing relevant input for updating policies to meet the needs within our service delivery model, provide feedback and execute actions that align within our strategic plan, assessing, and bringing operational and sensitive issues forward.
  4. As the key facilitator you will be able to monitor and execute the provision of services and ensure effective programs/service delivery consistent with agency mandate and policies This includes making recommendations and changes to the intake process to better serve our families, children, and clients.
  5. Peer support staff to develop competences in job function by sharing knowledge and experiences.
  6. Provide external referral sources and other community service providers with information on the services the Centre provides. Establish and maintain effective relations with other community service providers and the public. Represent organization at events.
  7. Perform other duties as required and assigned by the leadership team.

Training and Employment Coordinator

Hours of Work: Monday through Thursday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm and Friday 8:30 am to 1:30 pm (35 hours per week)

Term Position: Permanent Full-time as long as funding is secure

Salary: $45,500

Job Duties:

· Present a positive and professional image of the organization during all interactions with outside agencies, staff, board of directors and community members.

· Facilitating job readiness preparation trainings, including but not limited to creating resumes, interview preparation, independent job search techniques and other forms of individual or group employment support services.

· Create intake forms and use with each client for reporting purposes.

· Facilitate pre-employment, career development, career exploration and goal-setting workshops for individuals or in group settings.

· Conduct employment assessments to determine candidates’ job readiness level. Create individual employment plans for each assigned client. Documents clients’ progress in the database that is created.

· Follow up with participants regarding job interviews and employment status and documenting in TFCS database for reporting purposes.

· Identify employment/ career related community events, such as job fairs, transport, and support at-risk clients during these events.

· Develop and maintain relationships with community partners that can assist with pre­ employment and career readiness activities such as job shadowing and community service.

· Create and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals.

· Conducts on-going job preparation, job retention and life skills classes (work with life skills coordinator to meet the needs of clients).

· To work as part of the Tansi Friendship Centre Team

· Assist with any other programs as necessary as put on by the TFCS organization

· Be familiar with all of the policies and procedures of the TFCS organization

· Involvement in fundraising activities

· Prepare a quarterly report to the board of directors

· Attend all staff meetings and the Annual General Meeting

· Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.

Assist with other duties as required.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong written, listening, and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability work in an intercultural environment.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services within Chetwynd.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License
  • Must be proficient with computers and be able to navigate files, email, Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or direction, high degree of organization.
  • A strong work ethic – reliable, punctual, and responsible.
  • The ability to stay positive under pressure.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.

Wage: $2300 per month plus housing.

The successful candidate will be expected to take up residence at Alex Fraser Park and sign a separate residential agreement. A two-bedroom, two bath mobile with additions is available as part of the compensation package.

Technical Skills

  • Must have basic computer skills for keeping written records, sending, receiving emails and report writing.
  • Must be able to operate a tractor with front end loader for park and arena maintenance.
  • Have basic mechanical knowledge to solve maintenance problems with tractor and other equipment.
  • Basic understanding of Carpentry, plumbing and electrical.
  • Have knowledge or be prepared to gain knowledge for riding arena maintenance which will include sprinkling, grooming and leveling.
  • Maintaining overall conditioning of the park. As this park is mainly focused on activities involving animals, experience with live animals and farming is an asset.
