The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for an Emergency and Climate Coordinator who supports the Manager of Tourism, Emergency, and Climate Readiness in enhancing the City’s resiliency. This role coordinates the City’s Emergency Management Program, covering preparedness, planning, response, and recovery, as well as climate adaptation and mitigation. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining Emergency Response and Recovery Plans, coordinating Emergency Support Services, organizing training and exercises, creating climate adaptation and business continuity plans, and collaborating with stakeholders to meet legislative requirements.
Working outside of regular business hours during emergencies and disaster response may be required.
Requirements:
- A diploma in a relevant subject area such as emergency management, geography, natural resources, fire services, or an Emergency Management Certificate.
- Minimum two years of demonstrated experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience related to the items listed within the job posting.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience managing projects and leading interdisciplinary project teams.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check required.
