Bakery Worker

The Ashcroft Bakery is currently looking for a part-time Bakery Worker. This position could eventually lead to becoming a full-time position.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the production of baked goods and must have excellent customer service and communication skills. They must be able to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be community oriented, have strong attention to detail and have reliable transportation to work. Level 1 Food Safe is required.

Gate Attendant

The gate attendant is responsible for incoming and outgoing traffic into the warehouse and yard. The gate attendant checks and matches invoices and receipts against outgoing loads. The successful applicant must be friendly, courteous, and helpful to customers and be able to work outside during adverse weather conditions.

Customer service experience preferred. Familiarity with building materials would be an asset. Must be able to work Saturdays. CSA approved work boots required. The work schedule will vary from week to week.

Job description: Load / unload vehicles, assist customers, put away inventory, keep yard / warehouse clean and presentable. Keep inventory neat and organized. This is a full time, seasonal position.

Familiarity with building materials is required. Must be physically fit. Some heavy lifting required. The schedule will vary from week to week. The successful applicant must be friendly, courteous, and able to work outside during adverse weather conditions. Forklift certification an asset but will train the right person.

Along with labouring duties as required.

Must have:
• Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence or higher.
• Current drivers abstract.
• Reliable transportation to the job site, no bus routes available.
• CSA approved safety foot wear.
• Ability to work outdoors and in inclement weather.
• Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
• Reliable and punctual work practice.
• Must demonstrate an ability to clearly communicate, by radio
• Must be able to lift up to 22kg/50lbs.
• Pre-access drug and alcohol testing.

Wages will be based on experience.

The minimum work schedule is 10 on /4 off, 10 hour shifts.

Proper machine start-up, operation, and shutdown knowledge, including conducting pre-trip inspections, inspecting equipment before operating to ensure safe working conditions, and performing post trip inspections at the end of the shift. Experience with heavy rolling machine to compact earth fills, subgrades, flexible base and surface to grade specifications preparatory to construction of highways, streets, and runways. Drives machine in successive overlapping passes over surface to be compacted. Determines speed and direction of machine, based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures, so that ridges are not formed by excessive pressure. Along with labouring duties as required.

Must have:
• Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence or higher.
• Current drivers abstract.
• Reliable transportation to the job site, no bus routes available.
