JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate for this casual position will be trained to work in 4 programs: Homeless Outreach, Activity/Clubhouse and SIL Outreach (Supported Independent Living), and the Acquired Brain Injury Program.

The Homeless Outreach program provides support to individuals that are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The Activity/Clubhouse and SIL Outreach programs assist clients with lived experience of mental illness, substance use and/or complex health and mental health challenges to be included successfully in the community by providing appropriate care to meet individual needs and situational requirements and providing a variety of day-to-day physical, emotional, and social supports, advocacy, life skills assistance, information and resources.

The Acquired Brain Injury Outreach program provides a variety of day-to-day supports, advocacy, life skills assistance, information and resources to referred individuals with an acquired brain injury.

QUALIFICATIONS

·          Mental Health, Community Social Service  or related certification or recent, related experience of two years or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work

·          Class V BC Driver’s License

·          Certificates in CPR, First Aid, and Food Safe

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·          Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position

·          Experience working with individuals with addictions and/or mental health issues.

·          Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others as a contributing team member.

·          Ability to operate related equipment

Supervisor- Highways Maintenance

Ledcor’s Highway Maintenance Division provides services on long term contracts covering 3400 kilometers of provincial highways in Alberta and 188 kilometers of roadway in northeastern British Columbia. Services include: snow and ice control, crack filling, spray patch, line painting, bridge maintenance, road inspections, signs, guardrail, erosion control and vegetation control.

We are seeking an experienced Foreman in Fort Nelson, British Columbia for our Highway Maintenance division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a crew of equipment operators and labourers, as well as ensuring the maintenance and safety of the equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to manage resources, equipment, labour, and subcontractors in order to perform highway maintenance activities
  • Plan and prioritize work to meet contractual deadlines
  • Conduct road condition report inspections and track quality of work performed
  • Inspect equipment regularly and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed
  • Complete daily paperwork and conduct daily toolbox meetings
  • Ensure the safety of the crew, facility, and environment
  • May perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience on a highway maintenance construction site or similar
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment Functional Abilities and Medical testing
  • Must possess a valid class 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
  • Incorporates HS&E concepts into work activities and demonstrates concern for others health & safety (co-workers, clients, and sub trades)
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

Work Conditions

  • Applicants that reside in or are willing to relocate to Fort Nelson will be given preference due to the nature of the work
  • Shift work, on-call, and night shift may be required
