Qualifications for this role include:

Bachelor of Social Work, Masters of Social Work, or Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care,  or
Masters in Educational Counselling/Masters Clinical Psychology with completion of a practicum in family and child welfare.

Curatorial Assistant

The Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin is seeking students with interests in local history to complete curatorial projects and assist with the operations of the museum for summer 2018.

Qualifications:

·         Currently enrolled in and returning to full-time post-secondary studies.

·         Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or refugee status in Canada between 15 and 30 years old.

Preference will be given to those enrolled in a relevant field such as museum studies, history, anthropology, archeology, sociology, conservation, or Indigenous studies.

 

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

·         Excellent research, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;

·         Strong writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills;

·         Flexible, resourceful, able to work both as part of a team and independently within workplace guidelines;

·         Able to switch between various ongoing projects and prioritize goals as needed;

·         Efficient knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access;

 

Term: Seasonal full-time, for up to 14 weeks between May 14 and August 18, 2018.

 

Wage: $14.00/hour.

Seasonal -Mountain Bike Leader – Boys and Girls Club of Williams Lake

Wage: $14.50 10 Hours per Week

Description

The Boys and Girls Club Mountain Bike program serves to introduce, coach and mentor youth and children in adventure learning opportunities lead by qualified staff and volunteers within the community.

Time Commitment:

Two days a week

Monday Beginner/Intermediate Levels (ages 7-11).

Wednesdays Intermediate/Advanced Levels (ages 12-18)

Each session will be from 3pm-6pm Monday and Wednesday. Plus meetings to plan rides and activities.

Position starting early May and ending in Mid-October (weather permitting).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise youth and children age 6 – 12 and 13- 18 in our Mountain Bike Program on rides in manner that upholds the agency’s goal of providing a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for youth and children to grow and develop their biking skills.
  2. Assisting in helping maintaining the bikes and equipment that is used for the biking program.
  3. Help plan, organize, and implement weekly rides.
  4. Maintain the safety of the participants at all times.
  5. Maintain record of attendance, incidents and communication among staff and with volunteers by using the log book.
  6. Perform all duties in congruence with the values and principles of the Boys and Girls Club, Policy and Procedures of the organization, and in accordance with professional ethics and standards.

Qualifications:

  1. First Aid Level One
  2. Criminal Record Check
  3. 3 – 5 years mountain biking experience
  4. Knowledge of local mountain bike trails
  5. Be age 19 or older.
