The Orange Shirt Society is a fast-growing but young organization committed to supporting reconciliation through Orange Shirt Day events and other activities.

We are seeking a professional to provide administrative, communications, and event coordination assistance for the organization.

This is a part-time contracted position suitable for someone who can work independently from a home office. Hours of work will be approximately 15 hrs/month but will vary from month to month, depending on the activities of the society.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should have strong interpersonal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, flexibility and the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • A solid understanding of First Nations history and culture, including the generational impacts of residential schools, and the principles of reconciliation are required.

Nenqayni is a residential alcohol and Drug Treatment Centre “Providing Holistic Healing to First Nations and Inuit Youth and Families, and Communities in a safe and secure Environment.”

Qualified applicants are needed to fill, on-call positions for coaches, daycare assistant, cook and maintenance.

Coach Positions: Should have some training or experience with adult and youth addictions treatment. Afternoon shift is 3:00pm to 11:00pm.

Daycare Assistant: ECE Preferred but ECE Assistant is acceptable.

Cook: Valid Food Safe Certificate and kitchen experience is required.

Maintenance: Basic handy-man skills and experience required.

Custodians: Basic janitorial experience required, shift work times

Delegated Services Social Worker

 

Denisiqi Services Society delivers community-based, culturally appropriate child and family programs in Williams Lake and surrounding area for children and families residing in the six member communities of the Tsilhqot’in Nation and Ulkatcho First Nation.  We require a Voluntary Services/ Guardianship Social Worker to join our Delegated Services team.  The position will require flexible work hours with regular travel including overnight stays in remote communities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must have a minimum Bachelor of Social Work Degree or BA Child and Youth Care Degree.  Master’s Degree in related field may be considered with preference given to applicants who have held a Delegated Social Work position within the past two years.
Preference will be given to applicants with Child Welfare Specialization including a 4th year Practicum experience in a Ministry of Child and Family Development or Delegated Aboriginal Agency setting.
Knowledge of Tsilhqot’in and Ulkatcho culture and traditions or a minimum of two years working with First Nations people’s is an asset
Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s License and provide a Driver’s Abstract;

POSITION: Accounting Clerk

LOCATION: Williams Lake

Central Cariboo Disposal, a local disposal and recycling hauler and processor is looking for a dynamic, intelligent and flexible person to join our team.

Reporting to the Controller on accounting issues and the Area Manager on administrative issues, the accounting clerk will work along side the rest of the admin and office team as we support our customers, employees and suppliers.

The person we want to work with is very organized, detailed oriented and able to work with deadlines. You have strong verbal and written communication skills and can work accurately and independently while handling multiple tasks.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Full cycle accounting including journal entries as required
  • Processing payroll on a bi-weekly basis as well as payroll support functions (onboarding, ROE, benefits mgmt, etc.)
  • Primary responsibility for accounts payable processing and payments whether part of a monthly run or as ad-hoc requests arise
  • Prepare and handle bank deposits and transfers
  • Prepare and pay compliance remittances as required
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and credit card transactions
  • Take the general ledger to trial balance monthly
  • Support the Accounts receivable invoicing, payments and posting position
  • Sharing reception and dispatch duties as required
  • General office and admin duties

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting/finance with full cycle responsibility
  • Proficient with Quickbooks Pro
  • Proficient with the Office suite of products including Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Experience with government remittance requirements including payroll, GST, WCB and PST
  • Possess a high level of integrity and professionalism

COMPENSATION:

$22.30/hr per our collective bargaining agreement
